The CrossFit Games 2021 are on the horizon, and many of the participants are incredibly excited. Along with the usual CrossFit Games competitions like those for men, there will also be events for women. We have all heard about the women's competition, the Pegboard contest, the Cutting system, and Reebok's equipment, but do you know what to expect? Continue reading to learn more! Women's competition
This morning, the women's competition began at the 2021 Crossfit Games with the swim event. Jonne Koski, Tia-Clair Toomey Orr, and TiaClair Toomey Orr were the winners in the first event. Koski was the overall winner after keeping her lead throughout the competition. Tall and Eramooo O’Connell came second and three respectively. This was the first Games event for women and the women's team hoped to finish the podium.
The women's contest is filled with high-level athletes. The field features nine athletes, including a 19 year-old Australian powerhouse who won this competition last year. Kara Saunders (Australian athlete) finished second in Australia. She was also eleventh worldwide for 2020. Andrea Nisler is another rising star. She competed in the team category in 2018 and placed third in the United States, and 15th overall in 2020. This competition will include these athletes and Sara Sigmundsdottir of Iceland, a newcomer to Crossfit. She won the first place Medal at the World Crossfit Games earlier.
Pegboard contest
Pegboard at Crossfit Games 2020 was a first. It was added to the Games' summer Olympic program along with double-unders and dumbbell overhead squats. Toomey-Orr held the record for most Games wins with 30. Sager won Event 11 men's and received his third Games win. Although there were many ties, Toomey-Orr's dominance wasn't enough to prevent him from winning the contest.

CrossFit Games training involves focusing on ten basic physical fitness skills: endurance, strength flexibility power speed and agility. Competitors are tested on their grip strength and coordination in the Pegboard contest. Two wooden pegs are held between the hands of each competitor to gauge their grip strength. The competition was fierce and the athletes felt a sense accomplishment after finishing the Pegboard.
Cutting system
CrossFit Games will use a cutting system again for individual competitions. Although it's not as drastic as previous Games, it is still quite different from this year. It consists of 15 events so 30 athletes could be reduced after the seventh and eighth events. Another question remains: how will CrossFit adjust the points spread following cuts? The scoring system used in 2019 was virtually identical to the 2021 one, so it is probable that this will continue.
The CrossFit Games' largest ever field, consisting of 236 athletes this year, is the largest ever. Major cuts are made at the six initial events. The field is reduced down to 75 athletes. To determine the top ten, the top 30 athletes compete in a sprint tandem. The top 20 athletes then compete in six more events. Castro's system was strongly criticised by former Games participants, who felt that cuts were too substantial.
Equipment from Reebok
Reebok has released new CrossFit Games shoes, clothing and equipment. Nano X1 will be the new shoes. They are built to accommodate multiple fitness needs. Although Reebok calls this shoe "the shoe for fitness", it feels more like a training shoe. DuPont's Kevlar fabric is used for the upper, which promotes breathability and durability. The firm midsole and RopePro tech enhance the responsiveness of the shoes.

CrossFit's sponsorship contract with Reebok is ending at the end of 2020. There will not be a title sponsor for the Games. The Games have been sponsored by Reebok for over a decade, and it's now clear that the company's involvement will be decreasing. Reebok will not fund the Games' prize pool, but it will still make all the equipment and apparel worn by athletes, even the Reebok gear. The company will no longer call itself the "Reebok CrossFit Game", as it currently does.
FAQ
What is a good seven-day workout routine?
A seven-day program should include three days of cardio training (running, biking and swimming), two strength exercise (using free weights or weight machines) and one flexibility/core work out (yoga, Pilates). It's essential to do each activity at least once a week. Maximum 45 minutes should be allotted for each session.
Cardiovascular Exercises: Swimming, Cycling, Running
Aim to do at least 60 minutes per week of cardio. Aim for 75 minutes per week to get the best results. Cardio exercises can increase blood flow and stimulate the growth of muscles.
Strength Training
Cardio exercises target the heart, lungs and muscles. Strength training targets the muscles, tendons and bones. Strength training increases lean muscle mass and helps to burn calories even at rest.
Flexibility and core workouts
Flexibility and core workouts are great ways to strengthen your entire body. Both yoga and Pilates can be great choices.
Which is the best order to exercise?
It all depends on your goals. To build muscle mass, you should first lift heavy weights. Then move into cardio. If you are looking to lose weight, then move on to strength training.
If you just want to burn fat, start by doing cardio. After that, you can add strength training.
You should do cardio last if your goal is to increase muscle mass. This stimulates growthhormones, which helps build muscle mass.
You should also eat before your workout. This will fuel your muscles, making them work harder. It makes you feel better when you exercise.
Can I consume alcohol while working out?
Yes. Alcohol can increase energy expenditure, speed up healing time, and reduce soreness.
Also, alcohol increases insulin sensitivity which makes it easier to absorb glucose.
Dehydration can result from alcohol, which can affect your metabolism. Also, alcohol can reduce testosterone production, which may lead to lower muscle-building potential.
This is why women shouldn't have alcoholic drinks before exercising. Women who have consumed a lot of alcohol should wait at most 24 hours before working out.
It is important that women who are nursing avoid alcohol.
Men should only consume one drink per day.
Which workout is best for men?
The answer to your question depends on the type of information you seek. If you want to lose weight, cardio workouts are great because they burn calories faster than strength training exercises.
However, strength training can be beneficial if you only want to build muscle mass. It increases lean mass.
Both types can be used to improve your overall wellbeing.
I recommend HIIT, or sprint interval training, if you want fast results. This type training will help you quickly lose fat by increasing your metabolism. It also boosts your endurance to continue training even when you feel tired.
