CrossFit Games 2021 is nearing and many participants are excited. There will be women's competitions in addition to the regular men's and women's competitions. We have all heard about the women's competition, the Pegboard contest, the Cutting system, and Reebok's equipment, but do you know what to expect? Continue reading to find out! Women's competition
This morning, the women's competition began at the 2021 Crossfit Games with the swim event. Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr and Jonne Koski won in the first event. Koski was the overall champion after she maintained her lead throughout. Tall and Eramooo O’Connell came second and three respectively. It was the women's first event in the Games and the women's side was hoping to complete the podium.
The women’s competition is populated with high-level competitors. The field comprises nine athletes, one of whom is a teenager who won the competition in Australia last summer. Kara Saunders of Australia, who was second in Australia and eleventh in the world in 2020, are also contenders. Andrea Nisler is another rising star. She competed in the team category in 2018 and placed third in the United States, and 15th overall in 2020. In addition to these athletes, the Women's competition will also feature a newcomer to the sport - Icelandan competitor Sara Sigmundsdottir, who won the first place medal in the World Crossfit Games earlier this year.
Pegboard contest
The Pegboard contest at the Crossfit Games 2021 was a first. It was also added to the Games' Olympic summer program. Toomey-Orr held the record for most Games wins with 30. Sager won Event 11 (for men) and was awarded his third Games win. There were many ties throughout the contest, but ToomeyOrr was the dominant force that won the contest.

CrossFit Games training involves focusing on ten basic physical fitness skills: endurance, strength flexibility power speed and agility. Pegboard competition tests competitors' grip strength, coordination, and speed. The competitors compete by holding two wooden stakes between their fingers. The competition was fierce and the athletes felt a sense accomplishment after finishing the Pegboard.
Cutting system
CrossFit Games uses a cutting system to judge individual competition. While it's not as extreme or drastic as in previous Games, this year is very different. The competition consists of 15 individual events, so a first cut to 30 athletes is likely after the seventh or eighth event. One question that remains is how CrossFit will adjust the points distribution after cuts. The scoring system used in 2019 was virtually identical to the 2021 one, so it is probable that this will continue.
This year's CrossFit Games team includes 236 competitors, making it the largest ever. The first six events result in major cuts. The field is reduced down to 75 athletes. The top 30 then compete in a sprint couplet to determine the top ten. From there, the top twenty athletes compete in the six remaining events. Castro's system was strongly criticised by former Games participants, who felt that cuts were too substantial.
Reebok's equipment
Reebok has released new CrossFit Games shoes, clothing and equipment. The Nano X1 shoes are the new model. They are made to meet multiple fitness needs. Reebok has billed this shoe as "the shoe of fitness," but it actually feels more like a traditional training shoe. DuPont's Kevlar, which promotes durability, breathability, and strength, is the shoe's upper. The shoes are responsive thanks to the firm midsole and RopePro technology.

CrossFit's agreement with Reebok will end at 2020. No title sponsor will be available for the Games. Reebok has been sponsoring the Games for over a decade and now it is clear that its involvement will be declining. Reebok will no longer sponsor the Games' prize money, but it will continue to manufacture all the athletic apparel and equipment used by athletes, including the Reebok gear. The company will no more refer to itself by the name "Reebok Fitness Games", as it does right now.
FAQ
What is the best workout order?
It all depends on your goals. If you want to build muscle mass, then do heavy weights first. Then, move on to cardio. If you are looking to lose weight, then move on to strength training.
Cardio can be done if you want to just lose fat. You can then add strength training.
You should do cardio last if your goal is to increase muscle mass. This stimulates growthhormones, which helps build muscle mass.
Eat before you go to the gym. You will be able to give your muscles more fuel so they can work harder. It will also make you feel more energetic during your workouts.
What is a good schedule for a 7-day work out?
A seven day exercise program should include cardiovascular training (running or biking), strength exercises (using freeweights, weight machines) and one flexibility/core workout. It's essential to do each activity at least once a week. Each session should not take more than 45 mins.
Cardiovascular Exercises: Running, biking, swimming
The goal is to get in at least 60 minutes of cardio activities per week. You can aim for 75 minutes a week for best results. Cardio exercises can be used to increase blood flow, stimulate muscle growth, and improve blood circulation.
Strength Training
Cardio exercises work on the heart and lungs. Strength training works on the muscles and bones. Strength training builds lean muscle mass, which helps burn calories even when resting.
Flexibility & Core Workouts
To strengthen your whole body, flexibility and core work outs are excellent ways to do so. Both yoga and Pilates can be great choices.
Which workout is best for men?
The answer will depend on what you are searching for. Cardio workouts are great for losing weight because they burn calories more quickly than strength training exercises.
However, strength training can be beneficial if you only want to build muscle mass. It increases lean mass.
Both types can be used to improve your overall wellbeing.
If you are looking to lose weight quickly, I recommend HIIT or sprint-interval training. This type is great for burning fat fast by increasing metabolism. It can also increase your endurance, so that you can train even when fatigued.
