CrossFit Games 2021 are nearing, and many CrossFit Games 2021 participants are extremely excited. Along with the usual CrossFit Games competitions like those for men, there will also be events for women. You've heard of the Reebok equipment, the Pegboard contest and the Cutting system. But do you know what to expect from the women's competition? Continue reading to find out! And don't forget to check out the CrossFit news page for updates on the competition!
Competition for women
The 2021 Crossfit Games' women's competition started this morning with the swim race. Jonne Koski, Tia-Clair Toomey Orr, and TiaClair Toomey Orr were the winners in the first event. Koski was the overall winner after keeping her lead throughout the competition. Tall and Eramo O'Connell finished second and third, respectively. It was the first Games event by women. The women's side wanted to complete the podium.
The women's competition is filled with top-level athletes. Nine athletes are represented in the field, including a young Australian powerhouse who won last year's competition. Kara Saunders from Australia, who placed second in Australia and 11th globally in 2020 are other contenders. Andrea Nisler, a rising star who competed for the team division in 2018, finished third in America and fifteenth overall in 2020. The Women's competition will feature these athletes as well as Sara Sigmundsdottir (an Icelandan competitor who won the first place medal at World Crossfit Games earlier last year).
Pegboard contest
Pegboard was an original feature at Crossfit Games 2021. It was also added to the Games' Olympic summer program. With 30 wins, Toomey-Orr holds the record for the most Games events won. Sager won Event 11 and became the Games' third winner. There were several tie in the contest but Toomey Orr's dominance was too strong to stop him winning.

CrossFit Games training involves focusing on ten basic physical fitness skills: endurance, strength flexibility power speed and agility. Pegboard competition tests competitors' grip strength, coordination, and speed. Two wooden pegs are held between the hands of each competitor to gauge their grip strength. The competition was fierce and the athletes felt a sense accomplishment after finishing the Pegboard.
System of cutting
CrossFit Games has a new cutting system for individual competition. This is not as extreme as past Games cuts, but it is very different this year. The competition consists of 15 individual events, so a first cut to 30 athletes is likely after the seventh or eighth event. CrossFit's decision on how to adjust the points distributed after cuts remains a question. The scoring table used to determine the winners in the 2019 games was very similar to the one used to determine the losers in 2021. This is why it's most likely that the current system will be used.
The CrossFit Games' largest ever field, consisting of 236 athletes this year, is the largest ever. The six first events lead to major cuts. The field is reduced to 75 athletes. The top 30 competitors then compete in the sprint couplet to determine which athlete is number ten. The top 20 athletes then compete in six more events. Castro's system has been criticized by veterans Games athletes who feel that the cuts are too significant.
Reebok's equipment
Reebok has announced new sports shoes, clothing, and other equipment for the CrossFit Games. The new shoes are the Nano X1. They are designed to suit multiple fitness requirements. Reebok describes this shoe as the "shoe of fitness", but it actually feels more like an ordinary training shoe. DuPont’s Kevlar material is used to make the upper of this shoe, which promotes breathability as well as durability. The shoes' responsiveness is enhanced thanks to the RopePro tech and the firm midsole.

Reebok's contract with CrossFit will end at the end of 2020, and the Games will be without a title sponsor. Reebok has sponsored the Games for more than a decade. It is now evident that their involvement in the Games will decrease. Reebok won’t pay for the Games’ prize, but they will continue to make all athletic apparel, equipment, and gear worn by athletes. The company won't refer to itself as "Reebok crossfit games" anymore.

Can I go to the gym seven days a week?
Yes, you can go to the gym seven days a week but not all at once. It is important to find a time and place where you can exercise without feeling tired or exhausted.
This will help you remain motivated and have more energy to do other activities.
It is important to eat right during these times. This will make it so you don't feel tired or sluggish while going to the gym.
Last but not least, ensure there are no other people competing for your time. For example, if you have children, you may want to avoid exercising on school nights as they will distract you from your workout.
Is it true?
Protein helps maintain healthy bones and tissue. However, too much protein can result in calcium excretion through the urine. This can lead kidney stones.
It's important to note that not everyone gets kidney stones after eating more than 2 grams of protein per kilogram (2.2 pounds) of body weight. People can eat large amounts of protein and not get kidney stones.
Your sodium intake can prevent kidney stone formation. Sodium regulates the body's water balance. Too much sodium can lead to kidney stones.
You can also reduce your intake of proteins if you develop kidney stones. For most people, protein provides half their daily caloric requirements. It is possible to lose weight by cutting down on your intake of proteins.
If you do decide to eat more protein, don't go overboard. Limit your intake to 20% of your total daily protein intake.
How to build muscles quickly
The best way to quickly build muscle is to eat healthy and exercise regularly.

These unhealthy fats also contribute to inflammation, leading ultimately to heart disease or diabetes.
Avoid eating foods that contain artificial sweeteners. Artificial sweeteners increase the risk of getting cancer.
These chemicals are found everywhere, from soft drinks to chewing candy to candy bars to chewing gum. They appear in many other foods, including meat, poultry, fish, and eggs.
Artificial sweeteners can be saccharin or cyclamate, sucralose, sorbitol or aspartame.
The American Heart Association suggests that you avoid these chemicals as they can cause DNA damage in your cells.
What is the best way to train?
It all depends what you want. Start with heavy lifting if you're looking to build muscle mass. Then move into cardio. If you are looking to lose weight, then move on to strength training.
If you just want to burn fat, start by doing cardio. Add strength training to your workouts.
Do cardio first if you are looking to increase muscle mass. It stimulates growth hormones that help build muscle mass.
You should also eat before your workout. This will fuel your muscles, making them work harder. It will also make you feel more energetic during your workouts.

What's the difference between Aerobic Fitness & Anaerobic Fitness, and how can you tell?
Anaerobic fitness refers the body's ability to do intense physical work while lacking oxygen. Anaerobic pathways are used when there is intense exercise to provide sufficient energy. Anaerobic pathways include glycolysis and creatine phosphate.
Contrary to that, aerobic fitness is the ability to sustain low-intensity exercises for a long time. Aerobic exercise is a form of aerobic exercise in which oxygen is the primary fuel source for the cells. In other words, the aerobic pathway provides more energy than the anaerobic pathway.
You must build your aerobic capacity before you can run a marathon. If you only focus on building up your anaerobic capacity, you won't be able to finish the race.
Aerobic fitness can also be called cardiovascular fitness. The two most common methods of measuring cardiovascular fitness are VO2 max testing and step tests.
Tests for VO2 Max
The body's maximum oxygen consumption during exercise is called the VO2 Max. This test measures the amount O2 that the body can use when exercising.
This is the best test to assess cardiovascular fitness. The test is difficult to administer because it requires expensive equipment.
Step Tests
Step tests are a quick and easy way to test your cardiovascular fitness. Based on your age and weight, they involve running or walking on a track or treadmill for a specified time.
These tests are simple to perform, cost-effective, and easily accessible from almost any location. You can, for example, walk for 2 minutes on a treadmill, then rest for 1 min, then repeat the process for 20 minutes. Then, stop. Your heart rate should remain within a specific range throughout the whole session.
This method is called the Bruce Protocol. Bruce, a runner, developed this protocol after realizing that his heart rate did not rise when he ran longer distances.
