The competition for women

The women's competition at the 2021 Crossfit Games began this morning with the swim event. Jonne Koski and Tia-Clair Toomey Orr won the first event. After maintaining her lead throughout competition, Koski was declared the overall winner. Tall and Eramoo O'Connell came in second and third, respectively. It was the first Games women's event and the women hoped to complete it.

The women’s competition is populated with high-level competitors. The field includes nine athletes, including a 19-year-old powerhouse who won the competition in Australia last year. Kara Saunders from Australia, who placed second in Australia and 11th globally in 2020 are other contenders. Another rising star is Andrea Nisler, who competed in the team division in 2018 and finished third in the United States and fifteenth overall in 2020. Aside from these athletes, the Women’s competition will also include a newcomer, Sara Sigmundsdottir, an Icelandan competitor, who won first place at the World Crossfit Games earlier.

Pegboard contest

Pegboard was an original feature at Crossfit Games 2021. It was also added to the Games' Olympic summer program. Toomey-Orr, who won 30 games events, holds the record of most wins in one Games event. Sager won Event 11 (for men) and was awarded his third Games win. There were several ties in the contest, but Toomey-Orr's dominance was not enough to keep him out of the win.

CrossFit Games training involves focusing on ten basic physical fitness skills: endurance, strength flexibility power speed and agility. Pegboard is a contest that tests competitor's grip strength as well as coordination. A scale is used to determine the strength and coordination of competitors. Cutting system

CrossFit Games will again use a cutting method for individual competition. Although it's not as drastic as previous Games, it is still quite different from this year. It's probable that the scoring table used for the 2019 games will remain nearly the same as the one used in 2021.

The CrossFit Games' largest ever field, consisting of 236 athletes this year, is the largest ever. The first six events result in major cuts. The field is then reduced to 75 athletes. The top 30 finishers compete in a sprint pairt to determine who is the top ten. The top 20 competitors then compete for the remaining six events. Castro's system has been criticized by veterans Games athletes who feel that the cuts are too significant.

Reebok's equipment

Reebok has announced new sports shoes, clothing, and other equipment for the CrossFit Games. Nano X1 will be the new shoes. They are made to meet multiple fitness needs. Reebok has billed this shoe as "the shoe of fitness," but it actually feels more like a traditional training shoe. DuPont’s Kevlar material is used to make the upper of this shoe, which promotes breathability as well as durability. The shoes' responsiveness is enhanced thanks to the RopePro tech and the firm midsole.

CrossFit's contract with Reebok will expire at the end 2020. The Games will no longer have a title sponsor. Reebok has been sponsoring the Games for over a decade and now it is clear that its involvement will be declining. However, the company will no longer refer to itself as the "Reebok CrossFit Games" as it does now.
