CrossFit Games 2021 will be taking place in a few weeks and many CrossFit Games participants are very excited. Other than the traditional CrossFit Games, events for women will be held. We have all heard about the women's competition, the Pegboard contest, the Cutting system, and Reebok's equipment, but do you know what to expect? Keep reading to find the answer! The competition for women

This morning, the women's competition began at the 2021 Crossfit Games with the swim event. Jonne Koski and Tia-Clair Toomey Orr won the first event. Koski took the overall title after she held her lead through the entire competition. Tall and Eramo O'Connell finished second and third, respectively. It was the first Games for women, and the women's side hoped to complete the podium.

The women's competition features top-level female athletes. The field includes nine athletes, including a 19-year-old powerhouse who won the competition in Australia last year. Kara Saunders (Australian athlete) finished second in Australia. She was also eleventh worldwide for 2020. Andrea Nisler (who competed as a team in the 2018 division, finishing third in the United States and fifteenth overall for 2020) is another rising star. These athletes will be joined by Sara Sigmundsdottir from Iceland, who was awarded the first place medal at the World Crossfit Games earlier in the year.

Pegboard contest

Pegboard contest at Crossfit Games 2121 was a new concept. It was added to Crossfit Games' summer Olympic program alongside double-unders & dumbbell overhead Squats. With 30 wins, Toomey-Orr holds the record for the most Games events won. Sager won Event 11 for the men and took home his third Games victory. There were several tie in the contest but Toomey Orr's dominance was too strong to stop him winning.

CrossFit Games is a training program that focuses on 10 general fitness skills. These include strength, flexibility, power and speed as well as cardiovascular endurance. Competitors are tested on their grip strength and coordination in the Pegboard contest. Competitors hold two wooden pegs between each hand and compete to win. Cutting system

CrossFit Games has a new cutting system for individual competition. This is not as extreme as past Games cuts, but it is very different this year. It consists of 15 events so 30 athletes could be reduced after the seventh and eighth events. Another question remains: how will CrossFit adjust the points spread following cuts? It's probable that the scoring table used for the 2019 games will remain nearly the same as the one used in 2021.

The CrossFit Games' largest ever field, consisting of 236 athletes this year, is the largest ever. The first six events result in major cuts. The field is reduced to 75 athletes. To determine the top ten, the top 30 athletes compete in a sprint tandem. From there, the top twenty athletes compete in the six remaining events. Veteran Games participants criticized Castro's system, claiming that the cuts were too drastic.

Reebok's equipment

Reebok has released new CrossFit Games shoes, clothing and equipment. Nano X1 will be the new shoes. They are made to meet multiple fitness needs. Reebok describes this shoe as the "shoe of fitness", but it actually feels more like an ordinary training shoe. DuPont's Kevlar upper promotes breathability while ensuring durability. The shoe's responsiveness is enhanced by the RopePro tech and a firm midsole.

CrossFit's contract with Reebok will expire at the end 2020. The Games will no longer have a title sponsor. The Games have been sponsored by Reebok for over a decade, and it's now clear that the company's involvement will be decreasing. Reebok will not fund the Games' prize pool, but it will still make all the equipment and apparel worn by athletes, even the Reebok gear. The company will no longer call itself the "Reebok CrossFit Game", as it currently does.
